Decidim.org is the front door to the project. It is where the software is explained to people who
have never seen it, and where the community that maintains it publishes what it is doing.
Decidim is free software, released under the AGPL v3. It began at Barcelona City Council and is now
stewarded by the Metadecidim community, with the name and logo held in trust by the
Associació de Software Lliure Decidim. That governance is the point, not a footnote: it is what stops
the platform from becoming any single administration's property.
On the site you will find the feature tour, the list of live installations (Barcelona, New York City,
Helsinki, the Brazilian federal government and the European Commission among them), the
Social Contract that every installation is asked to sign up to, the Decidim book, and the blog
where releases and community decisions are announced.
This is the upstream everything else here is built on. Every platform in
Platoniq's Decidim Instances runs this codebase.
